New Hampshire Adds Over 5,000 New Nonfarm Jobs in September

Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released both national and state unemployment and jobs data from September. According to the national employment situation report, the national unemployment rate is at 3.5 percent which is .2 percent lower than August. 

New Hampshire’s September unemployment was 2.2 percent, which is a 0.2 percent increase from August 2022. This is a 1 percent decrease from numbers a year ago.

Based on preliminary data, the state has added over 5,000 new nonfarm jobs from August to September with some of the largest increases coming from the trade, government, leisure, hospitality, and business.
